<p>A fluid flow control valve has a body 28, enclosing a transfer passageway whose bounding surface is profiled to provide streamline flow conditions. The passageway is constricted by means of a piston-like valve 32 moving transverse to the direction of fluid flow. A profiled shield 36, protects the valve 32 from direct impingement of fluid.</p> |
