<p>Disclosed is a backing pad for an abrasive disc useful in sanding and grinding metal and other materials. The abrasive disc backing pad is adapted to have an abrasive disc mounted on the face thereof and includes a hub portion adapted to be mounted on a powered spindle and a plate portion around the hub portion. The plate portion, capable of supporting the abrasive disc during operation, has a disc-supporting face of uniform radius of curvature about a point located on the axis of the spindle and is concave with respect to the spindle.</p> |
