<p>3-Allyl-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-3-benzazepine derivs. of formula(I) (where X is halo), acceptable acid addn. salts, and O-alkanoyl esters were prepd. by dealkylating compds. of formula(III). The chloro and iodo compds. are specifically claimed as are the methane sulfonate, hydrochloride, and hydrobromide salts. (I) has a unique cardiovascular effect in that it is a potent renal vasodilator and also induces bradycardia. It is used to treat angina pector is by oral admin. or parenteral injection.
