PURPOSE:To provide a coal/water slurry consisting of coal with a specified particle diameter, petroleum coke having a particle diameter smaller than that of the coal and water and having excellent fluidity and stability, a low ash content and a high calorific value. CONSTITUTION:The slurry is prepared by dispersing or dissolving in water (A) 100pts.wt. coal having such a particles size distribution that about 70-80% of the particles may pass a 200-mesh sieve, (B) 2-10pts.wt. petroleum coke having a particle diameter smaller than that of (A) and (C) 0.1-0.5pt.wt. surfactant (e.g. polyacrylamide).
