PURPOSE:To obtain a recording sheet excellent in both color-developing sensitivity and developed color density and also excellent in stability, fastness or the like, by using a novel fluoran compound as a color former in a heat-sensitive or pressure-sensitive recording sheet. CONSTITUTION:One or more fluoran compounds of the formula (wherein each of R1, R2 is a hydrogen atom, an 8C or less alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkoxyalkyl group, a phenyl group or the like; each of R3, R5 is hydrogen atom, a Cl atom, a methyl group or the like; R4 is a 5-8C alkyl group, an 8C or less alkoxyalkyl group or the like; R6 is a Cl atom or a Br atom; (n) is an integer of 0-4) are used with or without other color former to produce a heat-sensitive or pressure-sensitive recording sheet. A color developer may be acid clay, activated clay, a phenol derivative or the like. In the case of the heat-sensitive recording sheet, the ingredients are dispersed respectively into a binders to prepare dispersed liquids, which are mixed with each other, additives are appropriately added into the resultant mixture, and the resultant material is applied onto a base such as a paper, followed by drying. |
