PURPOSE:To provide a shaft coupling which can perform buffer action and center adjustment by tightly fitting a coiled spring in each spring hole, while being compressed between a main body and a cover to be always kept without play therebetween. CONSTITUTION:In case of manufacturing a shaft coupling, a driving shaft hub 4 is inserted in a main body 16 in such a manner that one end of a cylindrical portion 5 is put into an opening portion 17 of the main body 16 of a spring retaining member 15. A coiled spring 27 is pierced through a spring hole 7, one end thereof being inserted in a spring hole 18 of the main body 16, the other end thereof being inserted in a spring hole 25 of a cover 23, so that the cover 23 is fitted to a circular portion 20 of the main body 16, and the cover 23 is strongly pressed to the main body 16. As a result, the coiled spring 27 is compressed and a little increased in outside diameter to be tightly fitted to the spring holes 7, 18, 25. If there is no axial alignment while the coiled spring is fastened by a bolt 31, no thrust of the coiled spring works upon a driving shaft hub 4 and a driven shaft hub 9. If vibration with axial displacement is produced during rotation, the thrust elastic force proportional to such displacement is operated by compression and expansion of the coiled spring 27, thereby damping the axial vibration early. |
