Freight container for products such as fish, with a storage space which, over its height, is designed to accommodate a stack of the products, in the case of fish a stack comprising a number of layers of the kinds of fish intended to be accommodated in the space. Extending through the storage space are a number of relief plates 10 which divide the space vertically into a number of height levels in such a way that at least part of the pressure from the products lying above is taken up by the relief plates, resulting in a reduction of the load on the products lying below.
