PURPOSE:To enhance the sealing ability of a ring pump and as well to reduce counterflow for aiming at enhancing the efficiency of the pump, by making the radius of curvature of a curve with which a ring member is formed, larger on the side of the discharge side end of a movable ring, than on the side of the suction side end thereof. CONSTITUTION:By making the radius of curvature of the discharge side end 15 of a movable ring member 1 larger than that of the suction side end 14 thereof, flow resistance in a gap 32 defined between the discharge side end 15 of the member 1 and an inner fixing ring member 2b may be increased to lengthen the practical sealing length for enhancing the sealing ability. As a result, counterflow may be restrained, and therefore, the time when the pressure in a pump chamber 9 reaches the pressure in a discharge chamber 31, may be delayed. With this arrangement, drive torque may be made small, and as well, leakage from the pump chamber 9 to a suction port 22 may be reduced, thereby a very high efficient pump may be provided. |
