PURPOSE:To make the miniaturization and lightening of type drum possible, by forming convex types by an optional distance on the outer periphery surface of the bar state body composed of rigid metals or macromolecular materials having polygonal or circular section in a Japanese word processor. CONSTITUTION:Plural typebars 109 are so arranged to be able to make frequent appearances and to be rotated around the outer periphery of type drum 104. This typebar 109 is the bar state body composed of rigid metals or macromolecular materials having polygonal or circular section, on the outer periphery of which plural convex types 100 being arranged, and the concave part 111 engaged into the engaging projection of print hammer is formed. The type drum 104 is so rotated that the typebar 109 having types to be printed is opposed to a platen 101, further the typebar 109 being so rotated that types to be printed are opposed thereto and the type drum is transferred to a print position. Hereupon, the type is thrusted up with the built-in type hammer and printing is carried out. Thus, the type drum is compacted, the inertia being lessened and high speed printing can be achieved. |
