PURPOSE:To facilitate the separation of linen fibers into single fibers and make possible the spinning of yarns of high counts and high quality and further the uniform drafting in spinning at a high speed, by decomposing gelatinous substances with a pectolytic enzyme, and removing the decomposed gelatinous substances. CONSTITUTION:A sliver 1 consisting of linen fibers is dipped in an aqueous solution containing a pectolytic enzyme at 20-60 deg.C for 1-5hr to decompose gelatinous substances, and the resultant sliver is then washed with water to adjust the moisture of the above-mentioned sliver to 50-150%. An aqueous solution containing a paste is then supplied from a water supplying apparatus 3 to the above-mentioned sliver 1, which is drafted in drafting zones 4 and 5, false twisted and dried to wind the resultant yarn 1'. |
