PURPOSE:To allow sensors in smaller number of pieces than conventional method to perform well discrimination and display about how bins are used, by furnishing a sensing means, which senses that sheets are loaded in any of a plurality of bins of the sorter, and a sensing means, which senses sheets delivery to bins. CONSTITUTION:When a Sort key 31 is turned on and the sort mode selection is made to begin copying action, the indication of a sheet reception counter 53 makes step advance each time a copying sheet 3 is sensed by a sheet reception sensor 5 installed at the entrance to the sorter, and then the sheets are exhausted one after another to bins arranged in stages. At this time, the indication of an exhausted sheet counter 57 makes step advance in accordance with the output from a sheet exhaust sensor 19. If the indication of this counter 57 is in agreement with a number entry memory 62 at the point of time when sheets in corresponding number of pieces are exhausted to the bins, the max. value of copied sheets in the precedent sequence of copying operation, i.e. the number of bins in use, is entered in a max. value memory 64 in compliance with the output from a comparative operational circuit 51, and when copying is finished, the number of bins in use is given on the display 40. |
