摘要 |
PURPOSE:To eliminate a slump of an intermediate frequency band and to improve the sensitivity with reduction of the noise level by forming a lower layer of metallic magnetic powder having a specific surface area less than the specific value defined by the BET method on a substrate and then forming an upper layer of the metallic magnetic powder more than said specific value and setting the difference of coercive force at a level less than the specific value. CONSTITUTION:The 1st magnetic layer which contains the metallic magnetic powder having a <=25m<2>/g specific surface area defined by the BET method and has 600-900 Oe coercive force is formed on a substrate. Then the 2nd magnetic layer having a >=25m<2>/g (BET method) and 600-900 Oe coercive force is formed on the 1st magnetic layer. Thus a magnetic recording medium is obtained. The difference of coercive force between both magnetic layers is set at <=30 Oe. Thus a slump of frequency characteristics is eliminated for an intermediate frequency band. It is possible to obtain a magnetic tape, etc. having high sensitivity from a low-frequency band through a high-frequency band with a low level of AC noises. |
