PURPOSE:To print out an image at optional size and to expand and reduce a half tone image by automatically adjusting the frequency of a clock sampling an analog signal including a half tone in accordance with the printing size. CONSTITUTION:An analog signal including a half tone is applied to an A/D conversion sampling part 1, which converts the input signal into a digital signal including tone wedge information having prescribed bits and writes the digital signal in a page storing part 2 by one page. The stored image information is converted into a tone wedge pattern for a tone wedge pattern storing part 4 by a tone wedge pattern converting part 3 and the pattern is stored in output line storing parts 5. The image information in the storage parts is read out and outputted by a clock from a reading clock generating part 7. A sampling clock to be applied to a sampling part 1 is supplied from a sampling clock generating part 6. The clock frequency is controlled by an automatic size adjusting part 10 inputting a print size signal, so that the half tone image is expanded or reduced in accordance with the print size. |
