PURPOSE:To attain to increase the efficiency of photocomposing work and to accelerate the speed thereof, by converting the character code output of a word processor to a position cord corresponding to the position of a character on a photocomposing character plate while bringing the corresponding character on the photocomposing plate to the position under a photographing lens corresponding to the position code. CONSTITUTION:When the character code input from a kanji tablet part 1 is received by a character code input circuit 2A and sent to an operation treatment circuit 2B, the operation treatment circuit 2B receives a character code to display the same by a character display 5 and, at the same time, the picture thereof is stored in a memory circuit 2C while the character code is outputted to a servo controller part 3 in controlling. The servo controller part 3 converts the character code successively sent from a word processing part 2 to a position code showing the character as the absolute position of the X-Y coordinates of a character plate and stores the position code in a memory circuit 3E at once while moves the character plate 6 of a plate position determining apparatus 4 on the basis of the position code and performs the control of a servo motor for determing the position of the corresponding character to the position directly under a lens. |
