PURPOSE:To increase the thickness of parts and at the same time to reduce the distance between a record/reproduction gap and an erasion gap, by forming an erasion gap between a magnetic core and a thin film having high permeability formed on a nonmagnetic substrate. CONSTITUTION:A thin film 15 on a nonmagnetic substrate 17 is formed by a sputtering process, etc. and undergoes patterning by a photoetching process. Then an erasion gap 12 is formed between a magnetic core 16 and the film 15. An erasion core 18 and a record/reproduction core 19 are provided around materials 13 and 16 of high permeability. In addition, materials 20 and 21 are provided to improve the head efficiency. As the film 15 is used to the core, the thickness is increased for core parts 13, 14 and 16 with easier handling of these parts. At the same time, the distance is reduced between a record/reproduction gap 11 and an erasion gap 12. |
