The invention relates to a multiple-language keyboard system, of the type comprising a group of keys 2, means for transmission of the information which are sensitive to the operation of the keys, and output means 6-10 for receiving information. The keyboard system according to the invention is characterised in that it includes first means 12-20, actuated by the operator, for selecting a language from among a plurality of predetermined languages, and second means 5, driven by the first means, for operationally associating each of at least some of the keys 2 of the group of keys with a transmission device of one of the communications units of the language selected.
