PURPOSE:To attain the recording with high track density on a disk recording medium of a small diameter by using a thin band of high permeability at a part of a core to reduce the distance between a record/reproduction gap and an erasion gap. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head consists of a record/reproduction gap 11, an erasion gap 12, materials 13, 14 and 16 of high permeability, a thin band 15 of high permeability, a nonmagnetic substrate 17, an erasion coil 18, a record/reproduction coil 19, and materials (back bars) 20 and 21 of high permeability respectively. The band 15 of ''Permalloy'', ''Sendust'', etc. is formed on the substrate 17 and then turned into a prescribed shape by a photoetching process. The belt 15 has high saturated magnetic flux density and functions to reduce the distance between gaps 11 and 12. Thus it is possible to perform the recording with high track density of a disk recording medium of a small diameter. |
