The connector consists of a plate with two opposite side tongues which are folded over to form a channel for receiving the conductor. The connector can be made of thin flat material since the folded-over tongues double the thickness in the critical region of the weld. Pref. the ends of the tongues have sloping edges which meet the sides of the tongues at corners of large radius. The connector (10) is pref. tinned at least in the welding region.
