In a device for feeding and metering pneumatically conveyable powders, especially coal dust, from a silo into a pneumatic conveyor section with a metering container which is arranged between the silo and the pneumatic conveyor section, which can be closed off from the silo in a pressure-sealed manner and the dome of which is subjected to pressure by a compressed air pipe, a feeding and metering device is to be improved in such a way as to make it very accurately adjustable, permitting the use of simple components, so that the aim of greater economy can be achieved. This is achieved by providing a mechanical conveyor belt (8) between the metering container (4) and the compressed air nozzle at the start of the pneumatic conveyor section (7) in a casing which is pressure-sealed from the outside, and by connecting the dome (6) of the metering container (4) to the compressed air feed pipe (12) of the pneumatic conveyor section (7) via a branch pipe (14). <IMAGE>
