The scissor-type lifting table (10) has a scissor mechanism with at least two scissor arms (18; 20) pivotably coupled to one another in their centre area. In each case one end of the scissor arms is mounted in a fixed but rotatable manner on a lifting platform (12) or a base frame, while the other respective end of the scissor arms (18; 20) is displaceably guided in the horizontal direction in the base frame or the lifting platform. The lifting and lowering of the lifting platform (12) is effected via a globoidal stepping transmission (42) which is driven by a drive device (26, 28) and on whose output shaft (52) led out of the transmission casing (44) at least one pinion (56) is arranged. The respective pinion (56) meshes in each case with a toothed segment (58) arranged on the scissor arm (20) mounted in a fixed but rotatable manner on the base frame. The pitch circle radius of the toothed segment (58) coincides with the fixed pivot point of this scissor arm (20) on the base frame. <IMAGE>
