摘要 <p>Flow meter comprising a flow channel with walls, stator (34) within the flow channel oriented such that the major axis of the stator is parallel to the direction of fluid flow, rotor (28) for rotating on the stator in response to fluid flow, retaining member (38) retaining and supporting the stator such that the rotor remains longitudinally stationary with respect to the flow channel comprising resiliently deformable member exerting a squeezing force on the stator and a dilating force against the walls of the flow channel. In one embodiment of the invention, the retaining and supporting member is formed from a sheet of spring steel symmetrically about a central longitudinal spine (46) with various convolutions on each side of the spine, the first convolution (52) and the third convolution (54) substantially constituting the dilating means and the second convolution (56) substantially constituting the squeezing member. The retaining and supporting member (38) may also include a retaining mechanism or clip (40) at one end for engaging a circular groove (72) in the flow channel wall such that movement of the retainer and thereby the stator and rotor is precluded. It may include linearity control trim tabs (70) adjacent the rotor which can be adjusted toward or away from the central axis of fluid flow to ensure maximum linearity of meter response to fluid flow changes. </p>
