The invention relates to a device for indicating the operating condition of a fuse, especially a melting fuse. The invention is based on the object of signalling the condition of the fuse to be monitored without any circuitry cost, by means of a potential indicator which is connected directly to the fuse. This object is achieved according to the invention in that an active or passive display having a maximum current consumption which is less than or equal to the permissible current through the human body and having a series-connected capacitor is used as the indicating element. <IMAGE>
