PURPOSE:To produce a unidirectional silicon steel plate having an excellent magnetic characteristic by hot rolling a silicon steel slab contg. a specific amt. of Mn and S or Se as elements for forming an inhibitor, subjecting the hot-rolled sheet to cold rolling including intermediate annealing under a specific condition and decarburizing the cold-rolled steel sheet. CONSTITUTION:A silicon steel slab contg. 0.025-0.10% C, 2.8-4.0% Si, 0.02- 0.15% Mn, and 0.008-0.080 1 kind of either S or Se or total of both is hot-rolled at >=1,250 deg.C to a hot-rolled plate having 1.5-5.0mm. thickness. The hot-rolled plate is then subjected to two times of cold rolling including intermediate annealing at 750-1,100 deg.C, wherein the 2nd cold rolling is accomplished by 40-80% draft to form the steel plate having a prescribed thickness. The secondarily recrystallized grains in the directions (110) (001) are grown by the presence of MnSe, MnS as an inhibitor. The PH2O/PH2 of the atmosphere in the front region of the intermediate annealing is made 0.02-0.20 and C is decarburized to 0.006- 0.020%. |
