For the uniform and precisely controllable tensioning of a cerclage wire (6), it is proposed to use a wire consisting of a memory alloy, in particular of 54 to 56 % Ni, the remainder being Ti and a layer which clads it, is tissue-compatible and is electrically insulating at least at the ends.
