A lamp is proposed which consists of a plurality of individual, overlapping strips which gradually become longer. The strips, which are arranged in an arcuate or U-shaped fashion, are threaded onto an axle, and produce a characteristic appearance owing to the circumferential surface becoming continuously larger.
