A ventilation element (1) for ridge tiles, having a standing surface for a longitudinal lower edge of the ridge tile, placed thereon, and ventilation openings which permit an air flow which passes transversely beneath the longitudinal lower edge and communicates between the area beneath the ridge-tile arching and the atmosphere. The ventilation element (1, 1') comprises a standing strip (3) having at least one stop web (2; 8), running laterally in the direction of the ridge axis, and projections (6) distributed at intervals over the length of the strip and arranged on the underside of said strip. The standing strip (3) and stop web (2, 8) are configured so as to be L-shaped in cross-section. <IMAGE>
