Method and apparatus for cutting wood into lengths

In this method for cutting round wood into predetermined section lengths, the round wood (2) is simultaneously conveyed towards a fixed dividing apparatus (4), while a second dividing apparatus (6), as shown in the figure, is displaced towards a predetermined cutting-to-length position. After reaching the cutting-to-length position, the round wood (2) is simultaneously cut into lengths by both of the dividing apparatuses (4 and 6). The rest periods are considerably reduced by the simultaneous conveyance of the round wood (2) and positioning of the displaceable dividing apparatus (6). <IMAGE>
