Device for taking gas samples for a bulk material container having a bucket wheel sluice (2) and a probe (10) for the taking of gas samples, wherein a measuring probe (10) is arranged in a chamber (11) outside the sluice (2) and communicating through an opening (12) with the sluice buckets (13). The arrangement inside the chamber (11) of the measuring probe (10) for the gas sample taking is such that the measuring probe does not come in contact with a bulk material of which the gas portions are being measured. A flashing (8) which pushes back the bulk material entering the chamber towards the sluice area (2) has the same function. The measuring probe is configured as a filtering bag (1) and is provided with a shaking device by means of which it is freed of adhering dust.
