The invention relates to a flow-rate valve which is controlled by its own medium and has an electromagnetically operated servo valve. The lift of the valve piston is controlled as a function of the flow cross-section of the servo valve. To this end, the valve piston is provided with a control piston which varies the cross-section of a restrictor gap in a control channel leading from the inlet to the outlet of the valve, as a function of the lift of the valve piston.
