In the case of a radial fan a tubular support frame, on which the fan impeller is centrally mounted and the fan housing can be fixed with defined orientations in relation to a radial reference plane, is provided for ease of assembly and ease of orientation of its outlet connection to predetermined air ducts. The support frame is in turn capable of rotating on a support mount fixed to the base frame of the fan and arranged or designed to be fixed on this. An opening in the housing, through which the fan impeller can be inserted into the fan housing, is covered by means of a cover plate, through which the fan impeller shaft passes. In a special design a block bearing is provided in the support frame, on which bearing the fan impeller is mounted and can be driven by means of a belt drive. In a further special design, instead of the block bearing the drive motor is arranged in the support frame and the fan impeller directly connected to its output shaft.
