The epicyclic gearing differs from the hitherto known planetary gearings in that three planet wheels supported in a planet cage having three axles revolve in an overhung manner between the centrally supported sun gear and the two internally toothed external gears having, for example, when three planet gears are used, three teeth difference but the same pitch circle diameter, it thereby being possible to achieve with one planet stage transmission ratios which otherwise could only be achieved with two-stage planet gearings.
