The principle of stress by shearing action is used for dispersing or grinding solids or concretions of solids. The shearing action results from the speed difference between the fixedly mounted mill housing and the grinding body which rotates at high speed. The shearing mill makes possible higher shear than hitherto available grinding and dispersing assemblies, simplified construction and minimising of wear at faster continuous operation.
