PURPOSE:To produce a unidirectional silicon steel strip having an excellent magnetic characteristic by hot rolling a continuous casting slab of a silicon steel to a steel strip then subjecting the strip to bendng, annnealing and cold rolling under specific conditions. CONSTITUTION:A continuous casting slab of a silicon steel contg. 0.017-0.080% C, 2.5-4.0% Si, 0.02-0.10% Mn, and 0.008-0.050% total of 1 or 2 kinds of S and Se is heated to about 1,330 deg.C to a hot-rolled steel strip. The strip is subjected to >=1 time of bending at a bending radius of <=200mm. radius. The hot- rolled steel strip is then annealed at 800-1,100 deg.C and is cooled at a cooling rate of 1-70 deg.C/sec to the temp. between 600 deg.C and the temp. T deg.C specified by the equation (1) in the succeeding cooling stage. The cooled strip is subjeted to one time of cold rolling or two times of cold rolling including intermediate annealing to form a steel strip having 0.30mm. thickness. A unidirectional silicon steel strip which has the recrystallized structure in the specific direction by the inhibitors MnS, MnSe and has excellent magnetic characteristic is obtd. |
