PURPOSE:To provide an alkaline primary battery of a high capacity causing no expansion or breakage by adjusting the weights of a positive and a negative agent in such a manner that the theoretical electric capacity of the negative electrode is smaller than that of the positive electrode and adjuting the difference to 4 to 5 times the amount of standard deviation. CONSTITUTION:The theoretical quantity per 1Ah (1,000mAh) and the theoretical capacity per 1g (1,000mg) of a material generally used for an alkaline primary battery are as shown in the following table. On the other hand, the process of mass-producing batteries has its own variation which indicates a normal distribution with a standard deviation sigma. It is generally recommended that the standard limit be restricted to 4sigma to 5sigma in a normal distribution. Therefore, when the pcking quantity or the electric capacity of the positive electrode is made smaller than that of the positive electrode and the difference is maintained at 4 to 5 times the respective standard deviation, a battery of the maximum electric capacity having almost no possibility of expansion or breakage can be obtained. |
