PURPOSE:To grip a type, print and return the type without mounting any drive source on a movable part, by externally controlling the rotation of a shaft provided as an axis for a type bar which is moved. CONSTITUTION:The type bar 2 and a type thrusting-up member are interlockedly moved to a type position for printing by controllingly driving a motor, and a type contained in a type magazine is inserted into the type bar 2 by the thrusting-up member. The type bar 2 and the thrusting-up member are moved in the direction of a platen 3 by controllingly driving the motor, and are stopped at a printing position. When the shaft 16 is driven to rotate, a type bar piece 26 is set into a circular motion through a rotary sliding member 21, an intermediate member 30 and a projected part 29 of the type bar piece 26, and the type bar 1 is also moved synchronously to print. Then, the type bar 2 is returned to an initial position thereof by driving the motor, the type bar 2 and the thrusting-up member are returned to the initial type position by controllingly driving another motor, the shaft 16 is rotated to release the type fitted to the type bar piece 26, and the type is returned into the type magazine. |
