PURPOSE:To make it possible to smoothly start the titled burner without blocking a burner gun by passing a coolant through a fuel passage of the burner prior to the starting of the burner. CONSTITUTION:By closing a ball valve 1 and opening a gate valve 2, only the coolant 22 is supplied to the inner passage 8 of a burner 6. By carrying out this operation with respect to the temperature raised burner 6 after warming combustion, the burner is cooled. When tha gate valve 2 is closed, and the ball valve 1 is opened after the cooling, the slurry of coal and water is introduced into the inner passage 8 and a burner nozzle 9 without evaporating water contained in the slurry. Hence, such a trouble that the coal part is solidified to block the passage, can be prevented, and thus stable combustion can be attained. |
