PURPOSE:To change the characteristic of an electromechanical transducer to detect the contact of a penpoint with an input panel surface by giving the depressing force which is given to the penpoint in accordance with an input operation, to the electromechanical transducer. CONSTITUTION:When a pen pressure is applied to the tip of a pen holder 11, a stress is applied to both main surfaces of a piezoelectric oscillator 13 through conductive elastic bodies 15a and 15b. The oscillation of the piezoelectric oscillator 13 is suppressed by the oscillation absorbing action to reduce extremely a degree Q of sharpness of the oscillator. Consequently, an equivalent impedance is increased to stop the oscillation, and a DC voltage becomes Zero. That is, the output DC voltage is monitored to detect the contact of the penpoint with the input panel surface. In this operation, it is sufficient if only the stress due to the pen pressure acts upon the piezoelectric oscillator 13, and the vertical movement, namely, the stroke of the pen holder is unnecessary. |
