PURPOSE:To cut off a blank with high dimensional accuracy by providing a supporting means which supports a sheet material and prevent it from slackening when cutting it. CONSTITUTION:In a blank mold, both a cutting knife (not shown) provided on a lower mold 38 and a cutting knife (not shown) provided on an elevatable upper mold 37 cooperate and cut a sheet material 3, forming a blank. On the lower mold 38 is provided a sheet material supporting means 50, which is driven by the lowering upper mold 37, brought in contact with the sheet material 3 being raised from the lower part prior to cutting, and supports the sheet material 3 to prevent it from slackening. And the sheet material supporting means 50 is separated from the sheet material along with the rise of the upper mold 37 after cutting the sheet material. Therefore, the sheet material can be cut accurately under a stretched condition without slackening due to its weight. |
