PURPOSE:To obtain the image having the quality similar to the quality of an initial image even after continuous copying and to decrease the welding of a toner to a toner layer thickness controlling member, etc. by using a carrier having 30-500mum grain size and mixing and agitating the carrier and toner in such a manner that the electrostatic charge of the toner is of the same polarity as the charge polarity of the toner obtd. with a developing device and that the electrostatic charge quantity attains 5-50muc/g, then separating the toner from the carrier. CONSTITUTION:The carrier having 30-50mum grain size is used in the stage of mixing and agitating the toner and the carrier. The carrier and the toner are so mixed and agitated that the electrostatic charge of the toner is of the same polarity as the charge polarity of the toner obtd. with the above-mentioned developing device and that the electrostatic charge quantity attains 5-50muc/g; thereafter, the toner is separated from the carrier. The toner is thereby stably replenished to the surface of a toner conveying member and the uniform toner layer of a small thickness is formed, by which the substantial frictional electrostatic charge is obtd. |
