PURPOSE:To prevent gas leakage from the end of each electrode by forming grooves in the periphery parallel to passages of fluid fuel and fluid oxidizing agent of ribbed electrode, and blocking with a specified fine powder, then filling a specified kneaded material as a sealant. CONSTITUTION:A small amount of fine heat resistant and electrolyte resistant powder 7 is uniformly placed in a groove 6 at the end of ribbed electrode 2, and water is poured in the groove 6, then the fine powder 7 is penetrated inside the bottom 8 of the groove 6 by reducing pressure to block pores in the bottom 8. A mixture 9 obtained by kneading 30-60wt% flake graphite which is heat resistant and electrolyte resistant and 70-40wt% fluorine oil is filled into the groove 6 to seal the end of ribbed electrode. Thereby, gas leakage is surely prevented and the life is lengthened. |
