PURPOSE:To store many terminals with a smaller scale by forming an optical broadcast network with star couplers. CONSTITUTION:The optical signal delivered from a transmitter 5-i1 (i=1-n) is supplied to a star coupler 5-0 having a reflecting function through a star coupler 5-i3. This supplied optical signal is reflected inside the coupler 5-0 and sent back to each terminal 5-i from each of (n) pieces of input lines and through the right side of the coupler 5-i3 in the form of an optical signal having 1/n intensity. The coupler 5-i3 distributes the supplied optical signals of 1/2 intensity and delivers them to two optical fibers of the left side. One of these two optical fibers is connected to a receiver 5-i2, and both optical fibers are received at a time. Thus it is possible to obtain a broadcast network which can store the same number of terminals as conventional with about 1/2 conventional scale. |
