PURPOSE:To provide a compact device which compresses and flattens an empty can in processing of the empty can be moving a pair of nuts of a pressing plate by revolving feed screw bolts with a DC motor. CONSTITUTION:When a power source switch 50 is turned on and a control switch is set to the press position, a DC motor 28 starts running to revolve bolts 8, 10 by means of transmission mechanisms 30-46 with reduction gears, thereby moving the nuts 14, 16 of a pressing plate 12 to the press side and compressing and flattening an inserted empty can 56. The pressing is stopped by a limit switch 24 and when a control switch 52 is set to the open position, the plate 12 opens and is stopped by a limit switch 26. The pressed can 56 is discharged downward when the pressing plate opens. This device is compact, permits the use of the power source provided in an automobile and enables easy recovery of the empty can at any out place. |
