PURPOSE:A highly safe and stable emulsified composition suitable for cosmetic and drug uses, containing bile acid (salt), a water-soluble alcohol and an oily component. CONSTITUTION:Bile acid and/or its salt is dissolved in a water-soluble polyhydric alcohol (e.g., ethylene glycol, polyglycerin, or sorbitol) containing two or more hyroxyl groups in the molecule, and blended with an oily component such as animal or vegetable fats and oils (e.g., beef tallow, rice bran oil), mineral oil (e.g., liquid paraffin), etc., to give an emulsified composition, a uniform transparent or semitransparent gel or viscous liquid. Amounts of bile acid and the alcohol blended are 1:(1-1,000) in a weight ratio, and total amounts of them are preferably >=20wt% based on the oily component. By blending the emulsified composition with water an oil-in-water type emulsion having fine particle diameters of particles and improved stability can be obtained. |
