PURPOSE:To enable welding with high quality at a narrow groove width even if base materials are thick walled by providing a mechanism which oscillates mechanically an arc and a mechanism which oscillates magnetically the arc. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 8 and magnetic pole pieces 10 are first disposed in the groove 12 formed between base materials 11, and the nozzle 8 and non-consumable electrode 9 are oscillated to the groove walls of the materials 11 by a mechanical oscillating mechanism consisting of a frame body 1, a motor 2, a revolving shaft 3 and an oscillating part 4. The nozzle and the electrode are magnetically oscillated by a magnetism generator 7 in the part shown by a code 14 in the state of the terminal end where the oscillation by the mechanical oscillating mechanism is infeasible. The arc is thus blown substantially to the groove walls and the groove walls are thoroughly melted. |
