UNITING METHOD OF TWO METALLIC MEMBERS

PURPOSE:To unite two metallic members to one body with good dimensional accuracy in the stage of inserting a round bar member into an annular member and uniting both members to one body by pressure deformation by providing plural projections on the inside surface of the annular member or the outside surface of the round bar member in the axial direction thereof and fitting both members. CONSTITUTION:A shaft 2 formed with parallel top and bottom end faces 2a, 2b by cutting a round metallic bar are fitted into an annular member 1 having plural projections 1a and grooves 1b on the inside surface in the central axial direction thereof. The outside circumference and bottom surface of the member 1 and the bottom surface and exposed side face of the shaft 2 are restrained by a die and the peripheral part at the top end face of the shaft 2 is pressed with a die having an annular projection to form an annular groove 3 and to unite both to one body.
