SOIL WATER OR SOIL GAS SAMPLING TUBE

PURPOSE:To make it possible to rapidly sample soil water or soil gas without deteriorating the same, by using a porous hollow tube obtained by sintering and molding a synthetic high-molecular fine particle as a filter while attaching a collection container to the upper opening end thereof to bring the tube interior to negative pressure. CONSTITUTION:Fine particles comprising a high-molecular material which is non-polar and non-chargeable and is not decomposed by microorganisms such as polyethylene or polytetrafluoroethylene are subjected to sintering and molding processing to form a cylindrical filter main body 1 having a porous tube wall with an average pore size of 1-10mum. The wall thickness of the main body 1 is set to 2-10mm. in order to provide sufficient strength and the inner diameter thereof is set to about 2-5mm.. A stainless steel joint 6 is attached to the upper part 3 of the main body 1 by a Teflon ferrule 11 and a stainless steel socket shaped connecting part 10 and the attaching part 4 of a tubular member 9 is provided to the other end of the joint 6. The interior of the tubular member 9 is brought to negative pressure and soil water or soil gas is sampled through the hollow part 5 of the main body 1. In sampling soil water, the interior of each pore is peliminarily wetted with water.
