PURPOSE:To obtain a precise and highly accurate deflection electrode in an outer tube by forming a deflection electrode pattern with a nonvisible seam on a cylindrical tube which is pervious to ultraviolet rays, inserting this cylindrical tube into the outer tube previously formed with a metal film, and photoetching it. CONSTITUTION:As the preparation to form a deflection electrode 2 on an outer tube 1, first the peripheral surface of a cylindrical glass 9 made of quartz, etc. and slightly smaller in diameter than the inner wall of the outer tube 1 is mirror-polished to form a metal film 2, and its surface is uniformly coated with photoresist 3. In addition, laser rays 10 are scanned while the glass tube 9 is rotated to form a deflection electrode pattern 2'. Next, the pattern cylindrical tube 9 thus made is inserted and installed at a predetermined position of the outer tube 1 formed with the metal film 2 on the inner wall of the tube and coated with photoresist 3, and further a fluorescent lamp 5 is inserted and installed in the glass tube 9. A transparent liquid with a refraction factor near to or larger than that of the glass 9 is injected into a gap 11 between the inner wall of the tube 1 and the outer wall of the glass 9 for photoetching. Accordingly, a precise and highly accurate deflection electrode can be produced. |
