CONTROL METHOD FOR PAPER FEEDING APPARATUS

PURPOSE:To improve the operationability by providing a paper detection sensor to a paper feed unit and storing the paper stacking section detected through said sensor to be running-out of paper then immediately indicating the running- out of paper upon selection of such tray. CONSTITUTION:A paper feed apparatus 200 to be used together with a copy machine body 100 is provided with plural paper stacking sections 26-31 and a paper feed unit 23 liftable/lowerable along the front edges of the paper stacking sections 26-31. The along paper stacking sections 26-30 are constructed movably to the right and left while the paper stacking section 31 is fixed. Here, a paper detection sensor 109 to be turned on upon contact with a paper detection filler 107 against the upper end of paper P stacked on the paper stacking section 26(-31) is provided to the paper feed unit 23. The paper stacking sections 26-31 detected to be running-out of paper through the paper detection sensor 109 are stored in a memory means and indicated immediately after selection of such paper stacking section.
