SILVER HALIDE COLOR PHOTOGRAPHIC MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To obtain a photographic material having superior shading reproducibility in a high density region without deteriorating the color reproducibility in low and medium density regions by incorporating at least one kind of coupler having 0.7-0.01 relative coupling rate to the coupling rate of the main coupler in emulsion layers and developing a color different from a color developed by the main coupler by such an amount that the maximum density of the developed color is regulated to 0.03-0.40 in a photosensitive unit. CONSTITUTION:This silver halide color photographic material has a photosensitive unit on the support. The unit contains a coupler developing yellow, magenta or cyan color in two or more emulsion layers having the practically same color sensitivity and different photosensitivities. In the photosensitive unit, a photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer related to the color reproduction of the highest density part and/or a nonphotosensitive layer adjacent to the emulsion layer contains at least one kind of coupler having 0.7-0.01 relative coupling rate to the coupling rate of the main coupler in the two or more emulsion layers and developing a color different from the color developed by the main coupler by such an amount that the maximum density of the developed color is regulated to 0.03-0.40 in the photosensitive unit.
