The subject of the present invention is a device for producing energy. The device for producing energy is essentially characterised in that it consists of at least one bearing surface 1, of at least one wheel 2 bearing on this surface, whose tread strip is deformable in contact with the said surface due to the force F2 which this surface exerts on the said tread strip, and by means 6 for transmitting to at least one plate 5 mounted on the axle 3 of the wheel 2 the force F2 exerted by the surface 1 on the tread strip 4 or the work of the latter so as to create a resultant drive moment which is taken up either on the said wheel or on the said plate and so as to rotate the said wheel or the said plate. <IMAGE>
